Hamilton
County Health Department Physician Volunteer Program
Chattanooga area
physicians: Are you interested in serving as a
volunteer physician? The Hamilton County
Health Department is looking for volunteers to
provide medical services in the case of a health care
emergency.
The
Volunteer Physicians Program is one component of
a larger volunteer program and consists of medical
professionals who are dedicated to ensuring that our
community is healthy and safe. The
program is affiliated with the
national Medical Reserve Corps, and is
a registered Medical Reserve Corps Unit. Partnering
with the Medical Reserve Corps gives the
volunteer program national recognition; however,
deployment outside the Hamilton County
community is strictly voluntary.
TPQVO is assisting the
Hamilton County Health Department's recruitment
efforts by adding a question to the physician
recredentialing and initial credentialing
applications. In the future when allied health
practitioner volunteers are added to this program,
TPQVO will add this language to area allied health
application forms.
TPQVO is also a partner in
the planning process and will assist in the event of
an emergency by providing credentialing services.
For more information about this voluntary
program, go to the Health Department's
website or contact them directly at 423-209-8074.
